It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of our colleague and friend, Caroline Sekar. She was among the skiers caught in the recent avalanche in Tahoe.
Caroline was instrumental in building and shaping the Meraki Community into what it is today. So much of the spirit of this space reflects her vision and her heart. The warmth, connection, and sense of belonging all grew from her influence. She believed deeply in the power of community and in the people who make it thrive.
Many of you knew Caroline through this community. You experienced her authenticity, her humor, her candor, and her genuine kindness. She had a rare ability to be both direct and deeply caring, to challenge ideas while making people feel seen and valued. She brought energy and light into every interaction.
Caroline’s impact on this community and on the lives of those who worked alongside her is profound and lasting. We are incredibly grateful for the time we had with her and for the foundation she helped build here.
During this difficult time, Caroline’s family has asked for privacy, and we kindly ask that conversations about her passing be approached with care and respect.
I'd like to invite those who feel comfortable to share a memory or reflection in the comments below as we remember and honor Caroline together.
She will be deeply missed, and her legacy will continue to live on in this community. 💚

Ah geeze I'm just now seeing this. We've been with this community since its founding and Caroline was the first person we interacted here with as we went about the internal testing and eventual go-live. What a tragedy.
