Janine wrote and wanted to know the following:

Why is it that the cisco confidence levels "elementname.value_confidence" come back between 0-100, not 0-1.0? Is that a bug or a cisco thing? It's weird, because I still have to set the confidence cutoff value to be between 0-1.0, but the return value for the confidence is 0-100.

I thought it would be useful to others to see the answer if someone here could answer it.

Thanks,
Cory

Hi Janine,

Could you please confirm which voice browser you encountered this issue on?

Please note that the "value_confidence" element data variable of Form elements is derived from the name$.confidence value on the voice browser. Section 2.3.1 of the VoiceXML 2.0 spec indicates that this value should always be returned as 0.0-1.0:

[quote:ab480e5827]name$.confidence

The confidence level for the name field and may range from 0.0-1.0. A value of 0.0 indicates minimum confidence, and a value of 1.0 indicates maximum confidence.[/quote:ab480e5827]

However, we would like to know which voice browser you have seen this on so that we can attempt to reproduce the issue and investigate it further.

Regards,
Vance
