Does anyone know what the response_code of '-2' indicates in the following error event I received in the Studio application: 'error.badfetch.http.-2'

In other places I receive 'error.badfetch' or 'error.badfetch.0'

Does anyone know what these different values indicate on the Cisco system?

I know that they all indicate that the voice gateway had trouble retrieving something (audio, next vxml page, etc).

But does one of these response codes indicate a 'timeout' vs. 'file not found'?

It sure would be helpful to know how to distinguish between these to handle errors in the app.

Why doesn't cisco return the standard '401' or '404' type http errors when files aren't found?

Thanks, Janine

Hi Janine,

error.badfetch.http.-2 refers to Timeout error.

When the GateWay throws an error.badfetch.http, it will have a positive response code like 2xx,4xx, 5xx as defined in RFC 2616 when the connection to the VXML/Media Server is successful.
It will have a negative response code when the GW has some internal error like network connection failure, buffer overload.

-2 -> timeout error
-7 -> connection error
-6 -> buffer overload and so on.

Hope this helps,
Ranjana.
