The "java.sql.SQLException: IoException: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection exception" is displayed when the user tries to connect to the Oracle database through SPC or SFP

Core Issue

The user receives exceptions after creating a new schema in the Oracle database, and when trying to connect to it through Subscriber Feature Proxy (SFP) or Subscriber Provisioning Console (SPC).

Resolution

There are three reasons the error message is displayed:

  • The database is not running. To make sure the database is running, try to connect using SQL*Plus.
  • The database connection listener is not running. To make sure the database connection listener is running, use the "lsnrctl" utility.
  • You have supplied the wrong database connection URL. To make sure you are using the correct database URL, navigate to the SPC config file or SFP mgmt file. (dsspc.cfg or dssfp.mgmt).
