Cisco information is all blocked from public access - cant find anything from public facing sites that we need, like inventory lookup (refer to dell.com example of serial number lookup), cisco ios download, or other general questions we might encounter (general questions go to the "what is your contract number" before it starts).
We deal with a very large volume of cisco equipment (1,000 of switches last year, and that was the introduction year of equipment movement), but we cant get the IOS to load on the systems to ship them out, we cant look up when an item was built or an items warranty schedule. Sometimes i wonder how cisco stays in business.
What does it cost and how do we go about getting an account that will allow us to get that type of support from Cisco? Cisco is so closed up i am not really sure what type of account that is. Its very frustrating and the customer is like, just ask Cisco. Ummm... that's not possible at the moment. We would like to make it possible, how does that happen? Can i get some information (if a link to web page please provide public facing links) with account support - what the account type would provide and how much it would cost (for 1 user, 1 login?, x users, x logins - not sure how accounts setup). The information would need to be clear and accessible to those who make the financial decisions.
Does that exist?

As far as i know, go to cisco.com/go/partner, click "Become a Partner" then fill out the initial registration form. Work with a Cisco channel account manager who will provide specific pricing and requirements.
For your use case you mentioned, becoming a Cisco Partner would likely be the most appropriate path, specifically at the Select or Premier level.
You can use this tool too for checking coverage https://cway.cisco.com/sncheck/

@cisco-novice when you compare this to Dell which is very open, yes. Each vendor operates differently, but in general the industry trend has generally been moving toward more openness and accessibility. When its not or you are used to something else, it can feel circular and frustrating. I would place a direct call to Cisco, while not ideal, at least gets you talking to a human who can guide you through the proper channels without requiring existing access.
