Catalyst Center Sandbox not pingable from other subnets within the CML

Hello team,

Is it possible to change the DNA Center node's configuration via SSH to add a default route?

"network":
"inet":
"gateway": "10.10.20.254",
"host_ip": "10.10.20.85",
"host_secondary_ip": "",
"netmask": "255.255.255.0",
"routes": []

According to these settings, there's no default route, so I'm unable to ping from other subnets in the CML lab. And the creds for SSH access to the DNAC node, are not available.

Would appreciate any support or guidance.

Kind regards,

Hi @Diegofl123 can you share the reason you are looking to use other subnets on CML? are you trying to use a custom CML topology? From what I see the sandbox uses 10.10.20.x/24 for working with CML devices.

Just to add, I assume you are referring to the Catalyst Center reservable Sandbox.

Hello @Jesus Illescas

Thanks for the prompt response! In this case, I'm trying to use LAN Automation and I cannot use the same pool 10.10.20.x/24 as DNA says it conflicts and yes, this is for the CC sandbox. So, if I use a different subnet for the pools, DNAC does program the border, the edge nodes get DHCP, but it seems they are not able to reach DNAC to complete the config.

Hi @Diegofl123 thanks for sharing the use case. Let me double check with the team if LAN automation is possible and if so, how. I'm not that familiar with the Catalyst sandbox but I can ask them.

Hi @Diegofl123 I checked with the sandbox team and for the moment connectivity outside of 10.10.20.x/24 will not work. So LAN automation is not supported. But there are some good news, they are curious if they could enable this scenario, so they will review.
