Lost SSH connection to Switch after a reload command in Sandbox Lab NX-OS with Nexus 9Kv

hello,

When I have new Sandbox Lab NX-OS with Nexus 9Kv and I run the reload command, it seem I can't access the MNGMT port anymore.

Steps done:

- SSH to 172.16.30.103

nx-osv9000-3# reload

This command will reboot the system. (y/n)?  [n] y

Ping for more than 15 minutes from the Windows VMMaestro and it does not get back:

It feels that ending the current session and rebuilt is the only option.

This does not really seems to be a normal behaviour?

Thx,

Wim

It can take a few minutes( I normally time this by drinking two espressos YMMV) for the nodes to active/reachable.

Hope this helps.

Very odd, i haven't seen this. If you are using this sandbox which is built on virl. You can do the following from the jump host (10.10.20.20)

virl nodes
[find the node which was reloaded and did not come back]
virl stop [device name]
virl start [device name]

You can console into the device and also check its status

virl console [device name]

Hope this helps.

Hello @bigevilbeard,

Thanks for the info!

I'm afraid I'm not following. I've spinned up a new set, got to the 10.10.20.20 via SSH

Tried to add the virl nodes command when all 4 switches are still on to do a quick check.

The strange thing is, I don't have SSH access on the new created space. Maybe something else is going on?

I see, take a look at this thread here --> https://community.cisco.com/t5/devnet-sandbox/issue-with-open-nx-os-with-nexus-9kv-sandbox/m-p/3948370#M4081

Hope this helps.

Thx for the tip.

I might still do something wrong...

Done some more investigations...

I had issues to reach the VIRL with even a ping and I've turned it off and on again as the ping was negative...

After that I was able to get the status:
