Sandbox at reduced lab capacity.

Hi @All ,

On Friday last, we experienced an issue with our backed infrastructure which we are still working on. The weekend timing did not help so its taking longer than expected to correct fully. However we are making good progress and decided to open at a reduced scale.

The following labs are currently available at limited capacity.

cml-sandbox
aci-simulator-sandbox
catalyst-center-sandbox
sd-wan-20-12
collab-14-sandbox
The Always-On labs are also available.

All other reservable labs are not available right now but we will reintroduce everything back to 100% over the coming days.
Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
Thanks,
Sandbox Support

Hi @All

Just updating this thread. We increased capacity yesterday and will continue to do so over the next day or so. More labs and pods will be coming online shortly.

Thanks for your patients,

Thanks for the update! If possible, could you prioritize bringing the Firepower Threat Defense REST API sandbox online? That would be great.

Hello,
Thanks for the update and your hard work on the topic!
By any chance would you consider adding "Cisco Modeling Labs" as reservable labs in the coming days?
My CCNP ENCOR Exam is coming soon (Start of Cisco Live 2025) and I was using it for my Labs, and setting up a virtual environment as good in the month I have ahead and having the time to lab is going to be a pain...

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Sylvain.

Thank you for the update. Do you have an idea of when Sandbox will be back @ full capacity?

Hello,

To clarify, are certain labs in 'reduced capacity' meaning you may get credentials but they won't work? For example when I launch the FMC API Sandbox I get credentials but they don't actually work. Is this related to the number of reservations?

@bdnetlabs No, if there was no reservations, you would not be able to reserve, the button would be greyed out. This sounds like a separate issue you are seeing, but normally ending the current reservation and starting a new one resolves this.

hi @bdnetlabs

I tested FMC rest API sandbox a number of times this morning and can access the API explorer with the provided credentials. We occasionally a situation where the random password we generate contains a character that the FMC automation does not like.
If this happens, ending the reservation and starting a new one will work.
In regards to you question on reduced capacity, this is in relation to private reservation labs using VLANs. Only those labs are affected by this. FMC is a shared environment and not affected.

Hope this helps.

@jokearns1 Are there plans to restore the vNexus Dashboard Fabric Controller sandbox?

Thanks!

Hi All,

We have increased capacity for CML, Catalyst Center, Collab 14, ACI Simulator, IOS XE on Cat8kv, Firepower Threat Defense REST API and Cisco SD-WAN 20.12
@bmcgahan I will get some VLANs assigned vNexus shortly.

Hi, for CML, remember there is a free CML download, so you can run your own instance. Main limitation is: "A CML-Free instance can run up to 5 nodes simultaneously." For more details see https://developer.cisco.com/docs/modeling-labs/cml-free/#cisco-modeling-labs---free
