Test calling between Jabber instances in Collaboration?

CTICam

In Collaboration 14, what is the recommended to test call from one line to another? Since the VPN via AnyConnect only allows one device to connect to the VPN at once, we cannot set up two computers with Jabber to have them call each other. We want to be able to perform test calls to detect the CTI events published by CUCM.

Currently, we have found a workable approach, but it is not robust and we believe there should be a better solution:

  1. On a computer, connect to the AnyConnect VPN
  2. Open Jabber and sign in with:
  3. On MacOS, navigate to `/Applications` and force open a second Jabber instance via `open -n Cisco Cisco\ Jabber.app`
  4. In the second Jabber instance, sign in with:

This allows us to call line `1002` from `1001`. However, there are frequent transient errors that prevent calls from going through. For example, sometimes calls will go straight to voicemail or other times calls will dial, but the recipient will not be able to pick up.

Has anyone found a solution to be able to perform test calls between lines within Collaboration or UCCX?

You can request the Cisco sandbox team add additional users to the VPN, so that more than one user can use the username details.

Hope this helps
