Am able to load the finesse login screen via https://hq-uccx.abc.inc:8445/desktop/container/ but on attempting to login via chrome, firefox on client machine (also tried ie on one of the jabber boxes), always receive the following error: "Device not accessible. Contact your system administrator".
Attempting to use the documented login details of Agent001 / ciscopsdt / 6001

check pg logs.
usually this error could be due to
1. IP phone not up
2. phone not in rmcm user
3. PG pim up?
4. remove and re-add the phone in rmcm user

The same agent / phone connects fine via the provided Jabber clients.

this confirms the CUCM portion is good, have you checked the ccx logs?
