I am trying use jabber demo. I have created a userid(rameshCorey) and also requested the
sandbox access. As per the documentation (https://developer.cisco.com/site/jabber-websdk/learn/im-and-presence-how-to/use-jabber-im-ui-components/),
I should have got an email with 2 user ids. However I did not get any mail.

Ramesh

Hi Travis Williams,
Still I get the same error. Would it be fine for you to check this online with webex or Gotomeeting. If so please let me know your convenient time. I am in India Time zone(IST).

Ramesh

Hey Ramesh,
I am sorry to say I have made a mistake, and I gave the wrong information.
I just tested this myself successfully, here is the config I used for the shared lab.
var demoConfig = {
domain: "psdtemea.cisco.com", //the domain specified for your CUP server
httpBindingURL: "https://10.10.20.20:7335/httpbinding", //the BOSH url for your server
unsecureAllowed: true //unsecureAllowed should be true if plaintext authentication is allowed over unencrypted or unsecured HTTP channels
};
Give that a shot, and let me know how it works out.
By the way, a new user account is generated everytime you use one of the “register” commands on the right side of your reservation. I used the “Cisco Jabber SDK for Web” command. Also note that even though your reservation will be forced to end in 15 minutes, your accounts will always be active.

We will setup a webex meeting if you are available.

Hi Ramesh,
I found the problem we had during the webex call. I found that from the cisco corporate network, I am unable to connect the stream properly. But works every time from my personal internet connection.
Any chance you can try another network?
Thanks,
Travis Williams

I think it is important that we focus on the remote server, since that is where you will be working from correct?
two things:
Try the domain name instead of the IP address: https://devnetsb14.cisco.com
The domain name uses an SSL certificate. So no security warnings will be present.
OR
try using the web browser, because you will have to login first anyways. Use the same address: https://devnetsb14.cisco.com

Hi Travis,
I tried with domain name https://devnetsb14.cisco.com and still I get the same error.

Hi Ramesh,
Give it one more try. I found out that a specific profile needed to be created for virtual machines such as your remote server. I was able to test on one of our virtual windows server in another sandbox lab.
All you should need to do is try to login again, no need to reinstall or reboot.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Travis Williams

Hi Travis,
I tried again and still not working. How do you create the profile for the virtual server?

Hi Travis,
I tried once again in softlayer server and it displays the same error.
We also purchased a server from Rackspace and tried. Here the VPN is connected. However the chat app displays the same error( we have seen from my laptop). Attaching the screenshot.
I suspect some firewall settings may be a problem. Could you help us to resolve.

Ramesh

Hi Ramesh,
From the screenshot you have sent, it looks like the VPN was not connected. Did it disconnect on you while you were testing? Make sure you can ping the devices in the lab such as the CUPS server (10.10.20.20). It would be important for me to know if Rackspace could connect to the VPN, and not Softlayer.

Hi Travis,
VPN is connected in Rackspace. This error appears while running the chat app. This is the same error we got with my laptop and in your corporate network.

Ramesh

Feel free to try another sandbox lab if you need. I have been successful with the "Collab 10.5 Lab".
If you can connect to the lab, and reach the lab devices, then I have to recommend trying the Jabber Developer forum.
If there is a chance of firewall issues, they should be able to tell you what port needs to be opened up.

Hi Travis,
I tried reserving the lab “Collab 10.5 Lab”. I got a mail with different VPN as below.
Connect to https://64.103.37.21/rave04 using a browser. Accept any Certificate Warnings
• Login using Username=rameshCore Password=SfIqOJVw
I tried to connect. But the connection failed. It did not even open the dialogue for entering password.

Ramesh
