Voice traffic redundancy with BGP (two links same ISP).

Hi,

Based on the following scenarios , is it feasible to have redundancy for voice services by means of BGP?

Current Scenario

One internet link are connected to 3rd Party FW (FG), around 200 NAT (incoming NAT) are configured in this FW
,the main service with this internet link is for voice (SIP trunks). Also output for internet  for several equipment is set.

Proposed scenario

The goal is to have a second internet link with the same ISP for redundancy purposes.
the internet links will be moved to a cisco router or cisco switch L3 also NAT.
when WAN1 link fails what is expected is that traffic moved to WAN2 by means of BGP.

In case BGP has that capability, what are the conditions that must be met to be configured.

I attach a diagram as reference.

Regards

Hello @filiberto.aguirre,

By utilizing appropriate BGP attributes, and implementing tracking, you can achieve redundancy for voice services by seamlessly shifting traffic to a backup internet link in case of a WAN1 failure.

Best regards

The FW config will not change.

You need only PBR in router to redirect VoIP traffic toward one ISP
