Utilisation Switch Cisco 2232TM-E

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup

Thanks for your reply,
I suspected that the extension would only work with the original parent but I wanted to be sure.

I just bought a refurbished N5K-C5548UP hoping to make it work with my N2K-C2232TM-10VGE VO1

Thanks,

Officially No, you cannot use a Cisco 2232TM-E Fabric Extender (FEX) without a parent Nexus switch.

The fabric extenders behave like remote line cards for a parent Cisco Nexus 5000, 6000, 7000 or 9000 Series Switch. Working in conjunction with Cisco Nexus switches, the fabric extenders extend the capabilities and benefits offered by the parent Cisco Nexus switch while providing flexible, scalable, and cost-effective server access.

Although, I came across this post where they used a Cisco FEX with Aruba Switch and it worked. Not recommended, but try for some possibilities.

Refer this doc and connect the FEX to any of the compatible Nexus 5000, 6000, 7000 or 9000 Series switch if you have, to make use of it.
