CASE CORE FILES / UTILITIES version out of date..

My device info:

Model:C160

OS:7.6.1-022

My last update was on 13 Feb 2014 and the version is 3.3.1-0.009 and it says no updates available:

I could see the available upgrates list:

AsyncOS 8.0.1 build 023 upgrate for Email, 2013-10-14

AyncOS 7.6.3 build 019 upgrate for Email, 2013-06-10

AyncOS 7.6.2 build 014 upgrate for Email, 2012-11-02

Does 7.6.3 build 019 support  Case Core Files/ Case Utilities latest version ? 

Or do I must upgrade to 8.0.1 ?  I worry about C160 this model overloading when it upgrade to 8.0.1....

Hello Edison,

Please upgrade to the version 8+ variants as the 7.6 variants are EOL and not supported for usage.

The last supported version which I see many users on for a C160 is 8.5.7 (which is optimized to work on these devices) as long as you do not over burden the device with bad mail flows, or have high memory intensive configuration (such as having spam scanning thresholds very high) and such.

The EOL versions will no longer get AS/AV updates and will affect the scanning efficiency.

Ok, understand. BTW, I also see the BIOS firmware upgrade:

Do I must to upgrade BIOS?

Hello Edison,

If you see it on your list,I strongly recommend to upgrade it.

Before upgrading it though please use the version command in your command line interface.

If your BIOS reads 1.4.3l then please upgrade

If it reads 1.4.6l then you can ignore the BIOS Upgrade on the list.

Also ensure RAID STATUS is OPTIMAL before attempting to upgrade.

RAID Status is "READY" , not OPTIMAL,

Yes, "READY" should be fine. It's equivalent to "Optimal"  for your HW model.

Hi, I have same a problem with ironport C170 Email security. I  noticed  on my device that CASE Core Files and CASE Utilites don't update. I traed network. It is Ok. What could be the reason?  Thank you/
