CLOUD EMAIL ROUTING THROUGH CISCO CES

Hello Dear,

we have an inhouse Mdaemon mail server which is used to route emails of 5 of our domains.

we have configured cisco CES to secure our emails. All incoming emails from outside first hit ESA which scans and deliver to Mdaemon which is routing emails to its destination internally.

we have another domain which dont have an inhouse mail server. its hosted on cloud and emails are processing through cloud (like gmail etc).

is it possible we can pass incoming and outgoing emails for that domain through ESA?

we can add that domain in RAT, we can add HAT entry and configure SMTP route?

please help.

Thanks

Mohsin

Hello Mohsin,

You can route any SMTP traffic to/from the Cloud Email Security (CES) appliance, assuming you have control over that traffic. As you stated, you would first need to correctly setup the HAT/RAT and SMTP routes to allow the proper flow, but yes this can be accomplished.

Thanks!

thanks Dennis for the reply. i just want to reconfirm as for 5 domains we have inhouse exchange server which is processing emails. The email flow is as mentioned below.

Incoming:

from internet to CES , CES to Inhouse exchange, inhouse exchange to internal destination

outgoing:

from inhouse exchange to CES, CES to destination (if destination is outside)

from inhouse exchange to CES, CES to inhouse exchange (if destination is inside the organization).

now for 6th domain, we dont have an inhouse exchange server which can process emails, our domain hosting provider is routing our emails for that domain. Do we need to configure any route on our domain hosting control panel apart from configuring CES RAT,HAT and SMTP.

Regards,

Mohsin
