Does WHITELISTing a host skip the Message Filters

The previous IronPort admin has a Message Filter setup to skip filters if you are on our WHITELIST, I am wondering if that is still necessary, as he set this up over 10 years ago?

When is the WHITELIST membership checked and does it automatically have the members skip the Message Filters is another way of asking this question.

Thank you Community

Hello,

The Sender Group is checked/applied during the initial handshake, based on the setup of the Host Access Table (HAT) under Mail Policies --> HAT Overview in the GUI. The Mail Flow Policy, typically TRUSTED for the WHITELIST Sender Group can be modified however you wish, but normally resembles the settings you mentioned by default.

As for your Message Filter, the skip-filters action in a Message Filter will only skip other Message Filters, and will not apply to Content Filters.

Thanks!

oops, I guess I can't edit my original post, so want to append this tid bit I just found on WHITELISTS but it still does not answer my question regarding Message Filters

" Members of the WHITELIST sender group are not subject to rate limiting, and the content from those senders is not scanned by Cisco IronPort AntiSpam engine, but is still scanned by the Sophos Anti-Virus software."

Message and content filters are still applied to the the messages that are in the WHITELIST sender group.
