Incoming connection (ICID 49632) lost >> Message 50507 aborted: Receiving aborted

Hi,

 

we are facing issues with incoming emails from some of the important domains, in the message tracking i can see after SPF check Pass, there is 5 min delay (Timeout for Unsuccessful Inbound Connections) and then connection lost error as below. the ESA is in DMZ and it forwards the traffic to fortinet firewall and then there is edge router facing the internet. Please recommend how to resolve this issue

Hi Rashid,
Is it happening only for particular Domains or for all the domains, please let us know?
To troubleshoot further you can increase the inbound timeout from 5minute to 10 minutes and check how the ESA is behaving.

Also, you can enable the SMTP conversation logs during the troubleshooting window and check is there any delay in the internal inbound connections during the SMTP conversations.

 if you think the domain which email sent from is much more crucial for your business you should add that domain to whitelist in HAT. the next time email sent from that domain will not be dropped.
