Internal Relaying with C370D - appears to be throttling

We send internal bulk email daily to our O365 users.  Our C370D is a relay.  Typical emails are around 350KB, today was a few - the smallest one was 40KB ... it filled up the workqueue (+25K) and would only pass around 1000/minute (load balanced across 6 E2010 HUBs - this is not a lot of data so I don't see this being an issue ... it all points to quantity, not volume.

I have been unable to find a Recipient Limit that makes sense.  We did set up Destination Controls for this domain (300 concurrent, 500 messages/connection, 10000 recipients/minute, Apply=Entire Domain, Per ESA=System Wide).

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Hi Elmer,

I would recommend reviewing Monitor -> System Capacity for the time frame to see if there was a significant spike in connections compared to other times.

If the device is overburdened by connections or high mail influx it would result in emails being processing slower than normal. Keep in mind even emails less than 350k would be scanned by anti-spam, sophos, content/message filters, graymail, outbreak filters etc. So the time taken to process the email would depend on the configuration of the appliance.

I would recommend opening a TAC case if you would like help reviewing that further.

Thanks!
