Hi,

I want to know if Iron port C360 support clustering or not.

Thanks

Yes.

Clustering is a feature of the software, not hardware, and for a long time was separately licensed. I don't remember  at what version they started including that for free, or if you can get it on older versions....

Ken

Hello,

The cluster feature is inbuilt your ESA on version 8.5 variants.

Before that, you'll need to purchase the Centralized Management Key.

Feature is accessible only via the CLI to create the cluster.

Clusterconfig is the command.

Thanks,

Matthew

Does Iron port support high availability or just hardware clustering ?

"Clustering' really ought to be called "Centralized Configuration/Configuration Replication".  It allows you to make configuration changes on one ESA and the others in the cluster will get those changes too.

High availability and failover is handled by how the boxes sending to the ESA are configured or told about your configuration.  Externally, sites sending mail to your will use your MX records to figure out what to do when it can't connect to a specific ESA.  Internally you configure your mail system to deal with it properly.

If one ESA falls over the others don't hear about it...

If i want to upgrade Iron port c360 . what the latest firmware can i upgrade ?

Hello Mahmoud,

given the fact that the C360 is End of Life (EoL - see http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/email-security-appliance/eol_C51-715394.html), the highest AsyncOS release supported by this hardware is AsyncOS 8.5.7. It is not possible to upgrade any x60 hardware appliance to 9.x as highlighted in the AsyncOS 9.1 release notes (see http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/esa/esa9-1/ESA_9-1_Release_Notes.pdf)=)

Best regards,

Martin

I have a different question.  Our problem is the Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-In for Outlook keeps getting disabled because it is so slow.  I couldn't find a bug fix, any suggestions?

Thank you,

Hey,

The best outlook to diagnose why it's slow would to run the diagnostic tool; there must be something interrupting or crashing the start up/run of it.

I know that using the Outlook plugin will encounter issues if you put other security plugins on as well.

Regards,
Matthew
