Message Aborted

Hello,

I have installed several IronPorts at customer sites and when checking the units, i always see "message aborted" in mail_logs.
Sometimes it's might be bad senders and it's normal that the conenction is dropped.

But many times it just seemed that the connection is dropped for no reason.
Some customers have PIX, ISA,etc but i really don't understand why there are so much aborted messages.
For one customer, they were using a BorderWare MXtreme and when they shifted to IronPort, they started having messages aborted and even problems receiving large attachments.

Did anyone noticed that and do you have any idea whether it's a problem on the IronPort on network, MTU,etc?

Thanks,
Vinesh

To get to the root of the message aborts, it's recommended that you implement Ironport Injection Debug Logs on IP addresses/Hostnames that are experiencing the aborts. The Injection Debug Log may shed light on why the aborts are occurring and who appears to be causing it.

Below is a link to a Support Portal KnowledgeBase article on how to implement Ironport Injection Debug Logs.
