Hi All,

Here i want to ask for cisco esa ironport. From the attached image is shown for outgoing email flow, and from mail server/exchange send to MTA A and forward the outgoing email to MTA B then released to the internet. Is there any possible way to make a split outgoing mail on MTA A so we can separate specific outgoing mail to MTA B, and the rest/other mail are send trough the internet from MTA A ?

Please give the advice for the configuration or possible scenario on MTA A.

Thank you.

Are MTA A and MTA B Ironport ESAs? Or is the box its coming from the ESA?

Hi Ken,

Yes both of MTA are using ESA ironport and need to configure on ESA A. Is there only using mail relay to separate outgoing mail like needed?

Well to start, you could do this on the exchange server. Create another outgoing send connector and set the scope to the domains that need to go to B and set the next hop as B

If you want to send everything to A, and have it send some to B:
1. On B, add the IPs on A to the relaylist sendergroup for the private listener
2. On A: create an Outgoing content filter with an action that sets the Alternate Destination Host to the ip of the private listener on B.
3. On A: create a outgoing mail policy, with the recipients set to the domains you want send to B
4. On B: Configure the policy you created to use the content filter. If you're doing content and virus scanning on B, you may want to disable It on A so you minimize the load on it.

Hi Mr/Mrs. Ken,

Thankyou for the advice, gonna makesure for the first requirement. Is should to make the exchange server to have 2 connector? Because from our exchange server can only have one connector to MTA A for outgoing mail. We assume ironport can separate if we added new interface/IPs direct to public for some outgoing email, and the rest to MTA B. Please correct our requirement if it wrong.
