I have an Ironport C160 version 8.5.7-042 and I'm considering allowing end users to access their quarantined messages via a notification email. Is there a method to allow spam quarantine access to a limited set of users? Currently it appears that this ability is either on or off for all users. I want to be able to test to a small group of users so I can develop a procedural doc.
Thanks,
Ken

Hello Ken,
I believe if you enabled EUQ (end user quarantine) access globally with notification for the access, then ALL users who receive emails going into the spam quarantine will trigger the notification access to them.
If you would like to test EUQ for specific set of users, then you cannot use the notification for access if you would like restrictive EUQ access, then you'll need to enable a type of authentication for the EUQ access and only allow access to the group of users, then possibly generate a new policy for these users where spam to be quarantine gets a notification manually sent to each recipient via a content filter.

Matthew

Thanks for your response. I do have a few more questions: how often does the notification get sent? Can the delivery time be altered?
Thanks,
Ken

Monthly, weekly or days of your choosing, on the hour(s) of your choosing. Here's mine:

Hi,
i have an IronPort ESA C170, i enabled Email Spam notification for end users, but i need to disable the release button for the end users
how can i do that?

Hello,
To remove the 'release' button from the notification, it would mean removing the variable that adds the 'table' showing the new emails that was caught into the spam quarantine.
These variables:
%new_quarantine_messages% to remove the table and the release availability
%quarantine_url%. to remove the URL access.
Currently there is no method to remove the 'release' only from the notification.
Regards,
Matthew
