Reason: 4.1.0 - Unknown address error ('452', ['4.5.3 Too many recipients (AS780090)'])

Hello,

I see this message on some messages going from my company to another.  Can you confirm this is from the receiving and not my side?

Hi Shawn,

The error "'452', ['4.5.3 Too many recipients (AS780090)'" is normally the receiving party rate limiting the number of recipients allowed over a single email.

You can confirm this from the message tracking for the emails and check the number of recipients on the email in question.

Also if the error is seen after a delivery connection (DCID) is generated on the ESA then the DCID would also list the IP address for the server the connection is being made to.

For example

Thu Jan 19 16:03:36 2017 Info: Delayed: DCID 284491 MID 247569 to RID 1 - 4.1.0 - Unknown address error ('452', ['4.5.3 Too many recipients (AS780090)']) []

Here 213.199.154.23 would be the destination server we would need to start investigating at.
