Replacing a C160 with a C380

We are currently replacing our Cisco ESA's with new hardware.  In our lab I have a standalone ( no cluster ) C160 appliance.  I have the new appliance C380 racked directly below it.  I have powered up the new device, connected to the management port and entered the basic IP configuration info.  The old C160 is on Version: 8.5.6-106.  The new one came with Version: 8.5.6-092.  Notice the build is different.  Can I restore a config from the C160 to the C380 even with the different build number?  Also, currently our C160 has Data 1 port dedicated to a management interface on 192.168.42.42 and then Data 2 has multiple interfaces with different IP's assigned to it.  The C380 has a separate MGMT port, then Data 1 Data 2 and Data 3.  Wondering if I have to tweak the config before restoring it for that.  And finally, do I have to download new feature keys for the new device or will the backup pull along those keys?

Advice?

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately, loading configuration between models is not supported. I would recommend to get them both to the same OS revision (including the minor version), and join them in a cluster. Centralized Management feature is now part of basic functionality and does not require an additional license to be purchased. Create the cluster on the C160, configure networking on the C380 and join it,  and your configuration will sync. Finally, shut down the C160, remove C380 from the cluster (it will flatten the configuration back to a single machine mode), and assign it the IP addresses formerly used by the 160.

Feature keys are tied to the device, loading configuration from a different S/N will not load the feature keys. They will be available once your appliance connects to the Internet. You should have also received a license file ("PAK") from Cisco as you purchased your new appliance. If desired, you can manually import keys in the PAK file onto the appliance.

Hope that helps!
