Understanding how email security flow works

Hi

i just new to the Email security,i have few doubt on the concept how it work.

Suppose one mail coming from the Outside, first the mail goes to
Incoming Mail Policies --> Check policy --> Matches --> HAT tables --> Check Sender group --> apply Mail flow policy
--> content filter ---> connect to SMTP

Is that way it works ? or give me simple term how acctually works

On the home page of the box,  click on Help and Support, and go to Online Help.  Go to the top, in the configuration guide, look for Understanding the Email Pipeline.

The flow is all there.
