Constant "Component Download Failure" events in console

I'm seeing constant "component dowload failure" events in the console.  For each affected machine, it happens every 2 hours.

It looks like its Tetra engine updates? but these machines are in a policy that doesn't have Tetra enabled.

Machines with Tetra enabled don't have this issue.

Anyone else seeing this?

Hello,

this Event does not belong to Tetra, it belongs to the Behavioral Protection Engine. If this issue happens on several machines, you may open a TAC case to take a deeper look.

Greetings,

Thorsten

Hey Thorsten,

It's almost all of my machines...

Tac case opened... It's been a SLOW response... I hoped someone here might have an answer sooner.

Thanks!

Ken

Hello @ken,

tested in my personal LAB, there was no difference if Tetra was enabled or not.

Just to be sure... can you please check the Behaviour Protection Connectivity test with the connectivity tool?

/BPD and /BPU are the arguments for testing.

Hi Ken,

I have the same issue here, did you managed to resolve the issue with TAC ?

Thanks,

Mohammad

Not yet...

Hello all,
looks like Dev figured out an issue and is working on it.
Greetings,
Thorsten

Hey Thorsten,

Do you know if it's in the client or the console? (I suspect client...)

And is there a guess as to when it will be fixed?

Ken

Hey Thorsten...

Looks like this issue has come back. I'm seeing in in 7.3.13 again...

Ken

Hey Thorsten,

Can you poke me if they do a beta of 7.4.1?

Any resolution so far for the same? Anyone opened TAC case and got the reply?

So, they think they have it fixed in 7.3.7.

Turns out I'm only seeing this on machines that have 7.3.3, but 7.3.5 has issues with the connector disconnecting from the console (also happening to me with 7.3.3). This is supposed to be fixed in 7.3.7

7.3.7 is currently "preview", I have it to test if my issue is fixed, and I know they have offered it to other customers to verify that it fixes these issues.

Hi Ken

Any news about this?
I have the same issue, and connectors are running version 7.3.13.20165

/Jens

Hey Jens,

Yes, it looks like it came back...

Ken

Here's what I got back from my TAC engineer:

I done some more investigation and it seems like these events are a result of the issue that was supposed to be fixed in 7.3.13, however it appeared that the fix won’t work in this version if an upgrade was performed from 7.3.9 or earlier.

The Component Failed events are with the following reason “current and pending versions are the same”, this is happening due to this defect:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvw67151/?rfs=iqvred

Currently this defect is supposed to be fixed in 7.4.1 that will be released by the end of March.
