Usage of REX Adapter

What is a "REX" adapter?

I would suggest looking at the services in the portal to see how the adapter is used. It is an adapter in Cisco Prime Service Catalog only and not in Cisco Process Orchestrator. There is plenty of examples of it out of the box in the CIAC solution. Can you check in there?
