SIP Trunk Strip calling party initial digits

Hi Team,

I want to know how to strip the calling party initial 3 digits? At the moment, calling party is 11 digit number and call manager is unable to recognise the number and displays as an unknown number. What are the steps to strip first 3 digits or mask the number into another format?

Kind regards

Sakun

Hi Sakun,

Just because calling party is 11 digit number does not mean call manager would not recognise it. can you elaborate on your issue and requirement. Also specify direction of the call and try to give example if possible.

Hi Jitender

I am this having issue with incoming call from the SIP trunk - Lync Server (when Lync user is trying to call internal extension or external number)

When I check the CDR, CUCM is unable to recognise the calling party partition. Also, my voice router doesn't have the rule to recognise this 11 digit pattern and use default PSTN number to call outside.

The calling number I receive from the trunk call is in this format - <Country Code (2digit)><Area Code - 1 Digit><Phone number 8 digit>. I want to strip Country Code and Area Code, and just want <Phone Number>

Lync --> SIP Trunk ->> CUCM -- SIP Trunk --> CUBE -- SIp Trunk --> ITSP

Is above the call flow

JB

Flow is:

Lync --> SIP Trunk ->> CUCM --> H.323 Gateway ->>Router -->PSTN Analog Line

So you don't see the correct calling number on PSTN phone?

If you want to strip digits off the calling number, you can do it, in multiple ways. You can configure and route pattern in CUCM for example 912.XXXXXXXX and then select strip pre . on route pattern and CUCM will strip the preceding 912 from the number.

JB

Hi

That didn't worked. Any other method?

Thanks

Sakun

There is no chance that the above will not work, as i have never seen a BUG with digit striping on RP, what number are you getting on gateway,

Can you make a test call and provide calling \ called party number and

"debug ccsip message"

"debug voice ccapi inout"

JB

Hi JB

That didn't work. But Calling Party Settings section in the Trunk configuration worked for me. I stripped the 3 digits in there which solved my purpose.

Now external router can understand the number and displays correct number, but Call Manager is still unable to recognise the extension. Even if the caller ID if four digit extension number, still Call Manager says an unknown number.
