Hi,
I have the need to NAT between IPv6 and v4. I have a a situation where IPv6 Clients will be connecting to our IPv4 only Servers however, the servers use Multicast (SSM Multicast) as well as Unicast. The Clients will connect to the Servers in traditional Unicast or SSM fashion. These connections will always be initiated from the Client toward the Servers and never the other way.
Doing some reasearch I've found that Multicast does not work with either Stateful or Stateless NAT64.

However, what about NAT-PT? Reading the docs for NAT-PT, I see no such restriction. Of course, NAT-PT is much older and is now considered 'historical' so that tells me that it probably does not handle multicast.

If NAT-PT won't work for multicast, what type of 6 to 4 NAT will work, if any?

Network Address Translation, in any form, is a unicast-only technology. You really want to convince your development team that IPv6 is important.

Of course. I've already made that suggestion to the dev team. However, in our case it's not that simple apparently. Ultimately that is the right answer but in the interest of time, the dev team can not address that change at this time.
I am being asked to come up with an answer that doesn't require any change to the server side if at all possible.
Do you know if NAT-PT works with Multicast? Or is there any other network layer solution that would work for this?
