is it possible to configure an Ipv6 interface to advertise its prefix WITHOUT sending a default route along with it?
Thanks

You can achieve that by setting the Router Lifetime in the RA to 0.
The interface command for that is: "ipv6 nd ra lifetime 0"
There is no direct option for the default route in the Router Advertisement message. A host uses all the routers sending Router Advertisements as candidates for its default router list. Routers that sets the lifetime to zero are not considered.

Hi George,
I beleive it should be done on client side. RA message doesnt carry any information about if a default route should or should not be installed. On Cisco routers, while enabling ipv6 autoconfig, we can mention if default route should be installed using "ipv6 address autoconfig default".
I hope similar option should be available for other clients as well.
