Hello,
I'm trying to remove a user but I'm getting an error saying that the user is "not deleted because they are managed by Directory Sync." The account has clearly been flagged as synced even though I have the free plan and always have. I'm not sure how a feature that's supposed to be paid for got crossed into my account. I cannot access the Directory Sync configuration area as I'm told that I need to upgrade my plan to do so.
How do I delete these users without upgrading, even temporarily?
Thank you!
M

Please disregard. We have decided to upgrade due to continued need for this feature.
Thank you for your consideration and time!

To answer your question: when someone signs up for Duo at signup.duo.com, the account gets created with a free 30-day Duo Advantage trial. This would have made the directory sync features available to you to configure. If you downgraded the plan to Free, either by intentional action or letting the Advantage trial expire, any sync configured still lurks in the background in case you decide to subscribe to a paid plan.
ETA: I understand that it isn't obvious that's the case and mentioned this to the relevant team.
