5411 EAP session timed out : EAP session timed out

Hello Friends,

I am using ACS 5.3 for certificate based authentication for lan workstation. Now few times I received this message from ACS.

5411 EAP session timed out : EAP session timed out

Does anyone faced this error and what is causing this, Can anyone give some information about this ?

"EAP session timed out" means that the ACS was expecting to receive more EAP packets for an EAP session but never did so it dropped the session after certain minutes, which can be quite common with EAP. This typically happens if a client's supplicant never provides a password or if it loses connectivity during authentication and then retries using a different EAP session or any other thing that may interrupt the authentication session from the client-side.

If you see this message sometimes in ACS logs with authentication piece working then not to worry .
