I have repeatedly made the experience that when mirroring a port with 802.1x enabled, SPAN-function does not work properly. When the problem occurs (it does not each time), I seem to only get broadcast-frames, but no unicast. One time I could solve the problem by moving the SPAN-session from 1 to 2. I had those problems not only when having 802.1x enabled on source-port, but also when it's configured on destination-port. The latter is of course no real problem, as you can easily disable 802.1x on this port. Not so on source: If I want to troubleshoot 802.1x and need to sniff the procedure, I can't disable for obvious reasons!
Has anyone had similar problems or even a solution? I searched for bugs on bug toolkit, but couldn't find any.
