HI evryone,
I am confused about the information of AAA servers and the TACACS+ servers. Is AAA itself a technology which is implemented on the said(Radius or tacacs+) server or AAA is itself a server.???

Hello,
AAA is a technology of the IOS (or some IOS variation) that stands for Authentication, Authorization and Accounting, it can use a mixture of TACACS+ and RADIUS servers, as well as local database of users.
For example, with AAA you can configure a router to authenticate login users using a RADIUS server and authorize the commands that those users are allowed to do with a TACACS+ server.
Hope it helps.

hi,
Do you mean that AAA is itself not a server where the router request for the authentication.Where as AAA is a model or a set of rules which we design or create in the router..???
