Hi all,
My customer is going to upgrade its ACS 4.2 to 5.8.
Reading on http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5-8-1/user/guide/acsuserguide/migrate.html#84540, there is the note "You must install the latest patch for the supported migration versions..."
The current release is 4.2(1) build 15 patch 1.
Is there anyone who ask the following?
Q1 - Which is the latest available patch of ACS 4.2? (I didn't find any information about it on cisco.com)
Q2 - Could the migration utility be used from the current release?
Q3 - Could I recommend the CSACS4.2-WIN-SR-K9 to settle things once and for all?
Thanks in advance
AL

They do know that ACS (all versions) End of Sales has been announced - right?
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/secure-access-control-system/eos-eol-c51-738197.html
ACS 4.2 was end of sales in 2011, end of support in 2014. I was not able to find even a cached version of the last release notes for 4.2.1 to confirm the last patch that was issued.
Since the customer has ACS 5.8 (and presumably support). I'd suggest opening a TAC case. They can definitely tell you the last patch for 4.2.1 and, if your customer doesn't have it, provide it to you as a Special File Publish to support the migration.
All that aside, they may be better served migrating to ISE with Device Management license unless there is some edge use case which makes ISE unsuitable for their requirements at this time.

The customer is aware of the EoS.
