Hi
I got a health alarm on my ACS 5.2 due to disk usage for /opt is 100%. This is a single server (primary) system.
Suggestions on how to cure?

Don't think there is to much good news for you here.
This means that the file partition is full and this is usually due to the size of the M&T database. I think you need to contact TAC for them to sort it out and M&T data may need to be cleared
I think can find more details on this in following CDETS which was included in ACS 5.2 patch 6
CSCto47203: ACS 5 runs out of disk space
Issue was that a purge of M&T data would only happen if a backup of the data had been previously performed. If no backup of the data had been performed the database could go endlesly and would not purge.
This is now changed to that when hits a high water mark a purge will always happen irrespective of whether there was a previous backup

Thanks
If I understand this right: It is too late to install latest cumulative patch and fix this issue!
The easiest would probably be start over with a clean installation, apply latest cumulative patch and then hopefully be able to restore a backup from the pre cumulative patch installation.

I think you are right. Looking at the release notes for the CDETS it looks like a remimage is reqiuired. You can check with TAC if want to be 100% sure
