ACS 5.4 Monitoring Database - Entries Missing

Hi, guys.

We have a weird issue with ACS 5.4 and the monitoring database, seems like entries are missing ....

If I generate an 802.1x authentication report for a switch by choosing an defined access-service for the last 30 days, everything since Nov 6th until today and everything before Oct 30th is missing.

Example:

acs_report.jpg

During the time of the missing entries, mostly all 802.1x clients were authenticated successfully though,

but not having the entries makes it very hard to troubleshoot failed authentications .......

Could this be a "purge" or "log message recovery" configuration issue ??

Any ideas, what I could do to solve this ???

ACS is running in a distributed environment (one primary, one secondary, secondary is LogCollector) on this version:

Found it:

ACS physical database size was too large, so that (I suppose) no entries could be written into the ACSviewlog file any more:

(config-acs)# acsview show-dbsize

Actual DB Size (bytes) : 7287930880

     Actual DB Size (GBs) :6.79

     Physical DB Size (bytes):72308531200

     Physical DB Size (GBs) :67.34

Physical ACSviewlog file Size (GBs) (0)

After I compressed the database manually, the physical file size of the ACSviewlog file increases again:

(config-acs)# acsview show-dbsize

Actual DB Size (bytes) : 6812966912

     Actual DB Size (GBs) :6.35

     Physical DB Size (bytes):6829383680

     Physical DB Size (GBs) :6.36

Physical ACSviewlog file Size (GBs) :0.01

(config-acs)# acsview show-dbsize

Actual DB Size (bytes) : 6813253632

     Actual DB Size (GBs) :6.35

     Physical DB Size (bytes):6829383680

     Physical DB Size (GBs) :6.36

Physical ACSviewlog file Size (GBs) :0.02

(config-acs)# acsview show-dbsize

Actual DB Size (bytes) : 6908207104

     Actual DB Size (GBs) :6.43

     Physical DB Size (bytes):6938722304

     Physical DB Size (GBs) :6.46

Physical ACSviewlog file Size (GBs) :0.08

and the authentication reports show entries from today again:

So far, so good.

But:

There was NO alarm/error/etc. from ACS itselft, like: "Hey, folks. There is not enough disk space to write any more ACSviewlog files ..... !!! Do something !!!!"

At least no alarm, that I would have seen ......

I would expect some kind of alarm, when it comes to any kind of "disk space low" situation ....
