Hello experts,
I need your assistance in installing ACS 5.5 in our environment. Currently we are using ACS 4.2 for windows server.I have searched on net and below are my assumptions.
1) ACS for windows is no more available after 4.2 version.
2) For ACS version 5, it has to be installed on a linux box/virtual machine.
When i go to cisco.com to download ACS 5, against my username. It asks for additional entitlement required error. My queries are,
1) Whats the procedure to get the correct entitlement.
2) Is there any other URL/LINK from where i can download ACS version 5 and at least try evaluation software?
3) Is it possible to migrate our existing 4.2 setup directly to version 5?
Thanks in advance
Rizwan.

Hello Rizwan-
My answers below:
1) ACS for windows is no more available after 4.2 version.
NS: Correct. The Windows version is EOL/EOS and it is no longer developed
2) For ACS version 5, it has to be installed on a linux box/virtual machine.
NS: Correct, you can either purchase a supported Cisco appliance or run it on a virtual machine in VMware
When i go to cisco.com to download ACS 5, against my username. It asks for additional entitlement required error. My queries are, 1) Whats the procedure to get the correct entitlement.
NS: Your Cisco login must be associated with a smartnet contract that has ACS 5.x attached to it. Check your CCO profile and make sure all contracts are attached to it. If you don't know the contract number then contact Cisco TAC
2) Is there any other URL/LINK from where i can download ACS version 5 and at least try evaluation software?
NS: If you haven't purchased ACS 5.x then you can reach out to your local Cisco Partner and ask them for assistance.
3) Is it possible to migrate our existing 4.2 setup directly to version 5?
NS: Yes and No. In ACS 5.x there is a migration utility that you can download and use it to migrate existing configurations. However, that utility comes with some limitations and it does not migrate all of the data. I have personally done several 4.x to 5.x migrations and never liked using the utility. I have always done a clean install and re-configured the ACS 5.x appliance from scratch.
