ACS SNMP setup

Hi Guys,

I have entered all the details for my snmp server;

Host

Community String

Port

Contact

Location - (Left this blank)

However when I trace on my firewall I see snmp coming from my server but the ACS send nothing back.

I am presuming the location is not a compulsary field??

Hence what else can I check or should it just function as long as all the details are correct.

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott,

What ACS version are you using?

If it's - as I think - about ACS 4.x Solution Engine, please check the following page for guidance about the configuration:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.2/user/guide/SCBasic.html#wp288047

The Location itself is not a mandatory field, just make sure that the community and port are correctly set and that you're polling supported MIBs, as specified on the following document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.2/device/guide/sdt42.html#wp56029

If you selected Accept SNMP packets from select hosts then make sure that the SNMP queries are coming from an address listed on that field, or try to disable this option for testing.

On the other hand, if it's about ACS 5.x, please refer to the following documents:

* SNMP Agent config:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.2/command/reference/cli_app_a.html#wp1896136

* Supported MIBs:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.2/device_support/sdt52.html#wp71020

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Federico

Could you please send me how I can add a SNMP community string on Cisco ACS 5.2 ( Web Based )?
