We're upgrading to 5.8, it seems that when we try to transfer the .gz file (more than 1Gb) via FTP server the connection resets. My laptop is directly connected to the ACS device, you can refer to the path below for our upgrade details. We're done on installing the pointed patch. We can't find anything on the internet that may help us solve this issue. I've tried using Filezilla and 3CDaemon but all of the connection resets. Any help will be greatly appreciated :)
STEP FILE COMMAND
Apply 5.3 patch 8 5-3-0-40-8.tar.gpg
acs patch install 5-3-0-40-8.tar.gpg repository ftp_repository_name
Apply Pointed Patch Pointed-PreUpgrade-CSCum04132-5-3-0-40.tar.gpg
acs patch install Pointed-PreUpgrade-CSCum04132-5-3-0-40.tar.gpg repository ftp_repository_name
Apply 5.5 ACS_5.5.0.46.tar.gz
application upgrade ACS_5.5.0.46.tar.gz ftp_repository_name
Apply 5.5 patch 10 5-5-0-46-10.tar.gpg
acs patch install 5-5-0-46-10.tar.gpg repository ftp_repository_name
Apply 5.8 ACS_5.8.0.32.tar.gz
application upgrade ACS_5.8.0.32.tar.gz ftp_repository_name

I am migrating our ACS to ISE and I am following similar steps because the Cisco Engineer in the document and video below suggested it.
https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-68794
I will give a try and let you know in a few minutes.

Hi,
You shouldn't be allowed to upgrade from 5.3 to 5.8.
If you want to upgrade to the latest version, you first have to upgrade to 5.5 at minimum.
Thanks,
Octavian

I just checked. If you have multiple ACS, one primary, one secondary + log collector and some others, you need to follow the next procedure. It is NOT an straightforward upgrade like ISE. You need also the latest 5.5 patch which is 11 not 10. You probably lost connection because you try to upgrade primary instead of the old log collector as indicated (the log collector role was move to another node so the old log collector must be configured as remote log target after upgrade it.
