I need to upgrade our existing ACS from 5.1 to 5.3. We have two ACS servers but one failed and was rebuilt by a 3rd party supplier but upgraded it to 5.3 hence the requirement for the upgrade
From reading it seems you carry out the upgrade via the repository and the actual upgrade does everything and convert the data to the 5.3 format as well
Questions
During the upgrade process is the system still accepting requests or does it reject them until the upgrade is completed?
If the upgrade fails , can the sever returned back to 5.1 or is it “lost”
Can you restore the server back to 5.1 via a backup , restore procedure
How long does it take approx. 400 users
Also do I need new licenses?
thanks

1) The system will not process authentication requests during the upgrade.
2) If the upgrade fails the only reliable way to revert to the previous state is to re-install the previous version and then restore a backup.
3) Yes, you can.
4) The upgrade should take about 30-45 minutes.
5) You do not need new licenses.
