The tools should have been automatically installed during the ACS installation.
What does the vsphere client show for tool status on the ACS VM?

Hi Wayne,
You don't get to choose whether to install it or not. If you're installing the server on a vmware hypervisor then after initial installation you are asked for hostname, IP, NTP servers etc. After you supply these details it does some post-installation and tells you that this application is being installed on a vmware VM. It then installs VMware tools automatically.

As I recall, you can just check the VM's summary tab from vSphere and see that the VMtools are installed from that screen. Take a look at this to see the tab in question:

I doubt you'll be able to install vmtools without reimaging the machine. If someone knows differently feel free to correct me. I'm likewise unsure if you can tell whether or not it's installed from CLI, I can check that in a couple of days when I get to a lab.
P.S. 214.70 GB for your HDD is low if it's your log collector. Especially if this is for a production environment. If you do decide to reimage in order to install VM tools, you may wish to expand the HDD capacity to the recommended 500GB if you can spare it.
