Cisco Secure ACS View 5.5, configuring backup.

Hello.

I'm trying to configure incremental backup but this fails.

I'm using a TFTP repo configured by CLI and Incremental backup is scheduled at 90 min time gap between data purge time.

Every day I find an error message like this "Incremental Backup Not Configured", with these details "Incremental backup is not configured. Configuring incremental backup is necessary to make the database purge successful. This will help to avoid disk space issues. View database Size is 46.89GB and size it occupies on the harddisk is 46.87GB."

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Regards.

Andrea

What version of ACS are you running?

Also, keep in mind that TFTP repositories have a file size limit of 32MB, so they are not adequate for backups.

You're running 5.5 patch 6, there was bug CSCtx99385 though the fix for it is present on patch 3 and subsequent.

Note that TFTP repositories are not supported for incremental backups, this could be why you're seeing the alert. Can you try changing to FTP, SFTP or NFS? If the problem persists, I recommend opening a TAC case so we can review your configuration.

Thanks.

Sorry, but I'm not able to find any comment about TFTP support.

For now I'm trying a new TFTP server.

Regards.

Again, a TFTP server is not supported for incremental backups, and ACS has a file size limit of 32MB with that kind of repository.

Andrea there are free sftp and ftp servers which would provide a faster and more reliable repository. As Javier has stated, 32MB is the file limit for standard TFTP.

Thanks.

Anyway, using the TFTP64 backup full and incremental are ok.

I'm moving to SFTP now.

Regards.

Good to hear it :)

Be sure to update if the issue is fixed.
