We have an ISE cluster with the license installed only on the primary admin node (generated on its UDI).
If we later have to promote the secondary admin node to be the new primary admin node (for some reson), then we need to have a valid license on that node generated with its UDI, right?
Is it possible to install the secondary admin UDI license from the primary admin node or do we have to deregister the secondary admin node from the cluster and then install the license on that node in standalone mode ?

Licenses are only added on the primary admin node. Now with that being said, during the PAK registration process you have the option to provide the UDI, S/N, etc from the secondary node, that way the license would be valid in the case of failover. If you did not do that during the PAK registration, you will have to contact TAC and ask them to re-issue you new license(s).

You could also re-host the license to the new (promoted) node. The steps are detailed here:

Note that on the Rehost/Transfer screen, you can add the information for your secondary node. That way, you can rehost the license to your current Primary Node with the secondary information included.

Hi charles Great answer,
On another case , we will try to install new ise ( virtual) on another server.
Does the license need to re host?
Example :
Ise 1 : SN 123
Ise 2 : SN 456
Ise 3 : SN 789
Ise 2 will be deleted and Ise 3 will be registered to deploymeny nodes as secondary.
Thanks.
