Automated Database Purge jobs keep the status "Running"

Hello,

We're running Cisco ACS servers version 5.6.0.22.7, when checking the status of the database purge job in the GUI of the global log collector, I see that the status remains on running for multiple days in a row.

Some days the the purge seems to complete as status is set to "Completed" and the alarm notification that the purge completed is sent.

 

The ACS services are automatically restarted, using kron, on a schedule well after the automated DB purge at 4:00 AM.

 

The days that the status remains "Running", the alarm that the "DBPurge is not running" is sent.

 

How can this be corrected?

All support ended for ACS 5.6. Normally this would be something TAC would have to address, but TAC won't provide you support unless you upgrade.

Upgrade/migration traject is being looked at.



I would like to know how this got solved by others.

Maybe I can implement this solution to keep our configuration up and running for the time being.
