Can ISE consume a plus license feature on apex

I have a question about license usage on ISE. If I have 10 plus license count and 100 apex licenses, can I consume plus features such as BYOD on the apex licenses? Since I have a lot less plus licenses, if I want to do more than 10 BYOD, will the 11th BYOD fail or can it be consumed by an apex license instead?

The "Plus" licenses serve a different purpose than the "Apex" ones. For example, you can profile an endpoint (plus) without applying posturing to it (apex).

The "Apex" license does not allow you to profile that endpoint, so the 11th endpoint will not be profiled if the 10 licenses are already in use, AFAIK.

Have a look at the ordering guide, specifically "1.5.3 How do I license BYOD" and "1.9.3 How do I license Compliance".
