If you upgrade to ISE 1.4 you can use an API for devices who can't use the NSP. If it's a Windows device then you should have no problems and won't need the API. Hope this helps. Yes you can. You just can't integrate the CA to work with your AD/GPO and start issuing certificates to your corporate devices. For that you should use a different PKI like Microsoft CA. The ISE CA is really build to issue certs to BYODs.
