I used the set password command in a wrong way and cant login anymore.
Catalyst 6000 #version 5.5(1)
I just pasted this into my telnet window:
Cat6k> (enable) set password <mynewpass>
Usage: set password
Cat6k> (enable) set enablepass <mynewenablepass>
Usage: set enablepass
Cat6k> (enable) exit
Connection closed by foreign host.
After this I could not connect anymore. Even console did not work.
Enter password:
Connection closed by foreign host.
...
Sorry. Try again.
Command syntax error should not allow to overwrite the settings ??
What should I do ? - Which password might work ? Thanks in advance.

There is a password recovery procedure which includes the Catalyst 6000. Use this URL:

Hi,
Can we use the same procedure to recover the switch that configure with taccacs? I need to recover the password for cat5000 series configured with taccacs. cause accidentally configured the wrong gateway and the switch can't find the taccacs server and don't remember the local password. The timeout for the taccacs longger than 3 minutes.
TACACS: Unable to contact Server
Trying Local Login Authentication
