i have added the sponsor portal to DNS but am still unable to connect to the page.
i am still getting the following error message.
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at iseportal.corp.company.com:8443.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
i am sure it is something simple. i had the same issue when i was bringing up 1.2 a couple of years back.
thank you ,
rick g.

That url is not used anymore in ISE 2.x, you either configure your sponsor portal with a shorthand name like "iseportal.corp.company.com" and DNS register that, and you will be redirected by ise to the proper sponsor portal, if you just put in http://iseportal.corp.company.com in your browser or you can go to the sponsor portal configuration in ISE and copy the link that is shown in the "Portal test URL" it will be something like :
https://x.x.x.x:8443/sponsorportal/PortalSetup.action?portal=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

not sure what you are trying to tell me here.
the DNS points to the admin persona at https://x.x.x.x:8443/sponsorportal/
does this need to be something different?
the ISE 2.1 user guide doesnt have any references to how DNS or the portal needs to be configured.
the test url just times out.

issue resolved.
the field int the portal settings needs to remain blank.
also when doing a distributed ISE deployment; DNS needs to point to the PSNs instead of the PAN.
