One of my customers requests using PLR license due their ISE is implemented in air-gapped scenario. Can anyone help me when ordering this license, what is its part number?

Thanks

In the Cisco ISE Licensing Guide, there are guidelines on how Specific License Reservation works with ISE in air-gapped networks.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/identity-services-engine/ise-licensing-guide-og.html#52CiscoISESmartLicensinginanAirGappedNetworkwithSSMOnPremServers

This includes guidelines on how to distribute the licenses between primary and secondary PAN nodes with regards to failover scenarios.

And in the admin guide for ISE 3.2 there is information on how this is configured.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/3-2/admin_guide/b_ise_admin_3_2/b_ISE_admin_32_licensing.html#concept_dpc_csy_fqb

In summary, for purchased licenses, which I don't believe is a specific SKU for the Specific License Reservation (SLR), you start by generating a SLR code on the ISE, which you paste into the License Reservation flow in your smart account, you'll retrieve an XML file that you then upload to the ISE.
(The "Enable Specific License Reservation" section in the admin guide has detailed steps for this.)

Thanks for your reply;

Although your mentioned document is very helpful, but its main focus is SLR. As I mentioned, I want to know more regarding PLR. Any ideas?

PLR license was discontinued with ISE 3.1 and replaced with SLR license for air-gapped networks.

Hi @Michal Janowski and thank you for your reply;

If the PLR license is discontinued with ISE 3.1, why it's option is available in the even latest version of ISE?

Hi @rezaalikhani ,
Technically PLR can still be used with ISE (this is for backward compatibility for customers that already had PLR license purchased). PLR license is no longer something that you can order. Ultimate source of truth is the official documentation:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/3-4/admin_guide/b_ise_admin_3_4/b_ISE_admin_licensing.html
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/identity-services-engine/ise-licensing-guide-og.html

You would not be able to find PLR in any of the documents as it is simply not available anymore.
You can always contact Cisco Account manager for more information.
